I have been using Quickbooks Pro for the past ten years. I update my software every three or four years and have always been mostly happy about my experience. Currently, I am running Quickbooks 2007 Pro. And, I have have been thinking it’s probably time for a new version.
But, before I just clicked and spent my upgrade dollars I noticed that the upgrade was about $200. And, that struck me as kind of steep. So I decided to put off my upgrade purchase. Nevertheless, as I like to upgrade accounting software on January 1st, I was still doing research when I came across an article reviewing several different accounting software packages, including some free and low cost programs. Within a day of reading that article, the New York Times had a posting in their small business blog about low cost accounting software.
I am now in the process of looking at my alternatives. But somehow, the more I read, the more I think my Quickbooks days are behind me. Let me know what you are using and how it is working in your business.

200 USD is obviously very steep for that kindda product!
